Meaning
I meditate upon Goddess Matangi — her eyes intoxicated like one who has tasted nectar, her breasts full and radiant, the consort of Lord Shiva, the giver of virtuous sons, adored by celestial maidens.
2. O Matangi, the jewel that dispels the darkness of ignorance and demons, the wish-fulfilling gem of mantras praised by sages! You are the radiant treasure of wisdom and eloquence. Dwell in my heart as the protector of my fortune.
3–5. Victory to You, O Vishalakshi, beloved of Mahadeva, the dark-hued Goddess shining like a blue lotus, enchantress of the worlds, granter of all auspiciousness and power.
6–8. You bestow all wealth, knowledge, and success; destroy adversity and poverty; You are Mahalakshmi, Mahavani, the blue-robed Matangi, the giver of joy and beauty.
9–13. One who recites this hymn daily attains all desires, freedom from sins, great fortune, poetic brilliance, and the eight siddhis. Kings become their servants, and all the world bends in service. Finally, they attain union with Shiva Himself.
