Meaning
Sri Kamalambika Stotram praises Goddess Kamalambika as the embodiment of beauty, compassion, knowledge and liberation. She is portrayed with a radiant face like the glow of the bandhuka flower, adored by celestial beings, gentle in her smile, and the fulfiller of all desires. She is the three-eyed Mother who cuts the bonds of ignorance and grants both worldly pleasures and ultimate liberation.
Kamalambika resides in the Śrī Kāmeśwara Peetha as the supreme Rajarajeshwari, worshipped by Saraswati and revered by Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. She frees devotees from sorrow, fear, and adversity. She is the ocean of compassion and the sole giver of poetic talent, knowledge, and blissful speech.
She destroys maya and delusion; sages and yogins worship her as the essence of pure consciousness. She grants all four types of liberation—salokya, samipya, sarupya and sayujya. She is the beloved of Kalarirupa Shiva, dispelling the impurities of Kali, and resides as the subtle kundalini energy.
She shines as the nectar-ocean of bliss, removing ignorance and expanding spiritual wisdom. As the mother of Ganesha and beloved of gandharvas, she radiates aesthetic beauty. She resides above the six chakras as the Nadabindu, dissolves the six inner enemies, and embodies the essence of all scriptures.
She bestows yogic bliss, happiness for all beings, and dwells in the hearts of great yogis. She is worshipped through Vedas, Agamas and classical arts. She is the Goddess of speech, music, divine knowledge and the sovereign of the universe.
The phalashruti declares that one who recites this stotram obtains sons, wealth, the eight siddhis, freedom from anxieties and ultimately attains the supreme Brahman state. Even great yogis find such attainment difficult—yet this hymn makes it accessible through devotion.
