Surya Kavacham Trilokya Mangalam

This kavacham is spoken directly by Lord Surya to Samba, revealing the supremely auspicious and exceptionally rare “Trilokya Mangala Surya Kavacham.” It is declared as a divine shield capable of granting complete success to practitioners. Those who understand and wear this kavacham attain mantra siddhi without fail. It is said that Lord Shiva became the leader of the ganas through its power, Vishnu gained universal lordship, and the gods including Indra attained sovereignty through its protection.

Brahma is the rishi, Anushtup is the meter, and Lord Surya is the presiding deity. Its application is for health, liberation, prosperity, and protection. The Pranava guards the head, Ghṛṇi protects the forehead, Surya and Aditya safeguard the eyes and ears. The eight-syllabled mantra grants all wishes. The scriptures prescribe writing it on birch bark with fragrant substances like rochana, agaru, and kumkuma and wearing it especially on Sundays, sankranti, or saptami.
