Sri Tulasi Stotram

Jagaddhātri namas tubhyam viṣṇoś ca priyavallabhe |
Yato brahmādayo devāḥ sṛṣṭi-sthity-anta-kāriṇaḥ ||

Salutations to you, O Tulasi Devi — mother of the universe, beloved of Lord Vishnu. From you arise the powers that sustain creation, preservation, and dissolution.

Namas tulasi kalyāṇi namo viṣṇu-priye śubhe |
Namo mokṣa-prade devi namah sampat-pradāyike ||

O Auspicious Tulasi, dear to Vishnu! You are the giver of liberation and prosperity. I bow to you.

Tulasi pātu māṁ nityaṁ sarvāpadhbhyopi sarvadā |
Kīrtitā vāpi smṛtā vāpi pavitrayati mānavam ||

May Tulasi protect me always from all dangers. Merely remembering or chanting your name purifies humankind.

Namāmi śirasā devīm tulasīm vilasat-tanum |
Yām dṛṣṭvā pāpino martyāḥ mucyante sarva-kilbiṣāt ||

I bow my head to the radiant Goddess Tulasi. By seeing her, even sinners are freed from their sins.

Tulasya rakṣitaṁ sarvaṁ jagad etac carācaram |
Yā vinaśyanti pāpāni dṛṣṭvā vā pāpibhir naraiḥ ||

The whole moving and unmoving world is protected by her; even sinners who see her are freed of evil.

Namas tulasy atitarām yasyai baddhāñjaliṁ kalau |
Kalayanti sukhaṁ sarvaṁ striyo vaiśyās tathāpare ||

In this Kali Yuga, whoever folds their hands to worship Tulasi — even women or commoners — gain happiness.

Tulasya nāparaṁ kiñcid daivatam jagatī-tale |
Yathā pavitrito loko viṣṇu-saṅgena vaiṣṇavaḥ ||

There is no deity on earth greater than Tulasi. The world becomes sacred through her association with Lord Vishnu.

Tulasya pallavaṁ viṣṇoḥ śirasy āropitaṁ kalau |
Āropayati sarvāṇi śreyāṁsi varamastake ||

Placing a Tulasi leaf on Lord Vishnu’s head in this age brings all blessings and auspiciousness.

Tulasyāṁ sakalā devā vāsanti satataṁ yataḥ |
Atas tām arcayet loke sarvān devān samarçayan ||

Since all deities dwell in Tulasi, one who worships her indeed worships all the gods.

Namas tulasi sarvajñe puruṣottama-vallabhe |
Pāhi māṁ sarva-pāpebhyaḥ sarva-sampat-pradāyike ||

O All-knowing Tulasi, beloved of the Supreme Lord! Protect me from all sins and bestow every form of wealth.

Iti stotram purā gītaṁ puṇḍarīkeṇa dhīmatā |
Viṣṇum arcayata nityaṁ śobhanais tulasī-dalaiḥ ||

Thus this hymn was sung of old by the wise sage Pundarika, who daily worshiped Lord Vishnu with sacred Tulasi leaves.

Tulasi śrīr mahālakṣmīr vidyā vidyā yaśasvinī |
Dharmyā dharmānanā devī deva-deva-manah-priyā ||

Tulasi is the very form of Śrī, Mahalakshmi, knowledge, virtue, and glory — beloved of the Lord of all gods.

Lakṣmī-priya-sakhī devī dyauḥ bhūmir acalā calā |
Ṣoḍaśaitāni nāmāni tulasyāḥ kīrtayan naraḥ ||

She is the eternal companion of Lakshmi, the essence of heaven and earth. He who recites these sixteen names of Tulasi—

Labhate sutarāṁ bhaktim ante viṣṇu-padaṁ labhet |
Tulasi bhūr mahālakṣmīḥ padminī śrīr hari-priyā ||

—attains supreme devotion and finally the abode of Lord Vishnu. Tulasi is Mahalakshmi herself, the lotus goddess, dear to Hari.

Tulasi śrī-sakhī śubhe pāpa-hāriṇi puṇya-de |
Namaste nārada-nute nārāyaṇa-manah-priye ||

O auspicious Tulasi, friend of Śrī, remover of sin and giver of merit — praised by sage Nārada, beloved of Nārāyaṇa — salutations to you!
