Sri Surya Stotram (Shiva Proktam)

The Sri Surya Stotram glorifies the Sun God as the embodiment of infinite radiance, the dispeller of fear, the giver of life, and the supreme light that awakens all worlds. The dhyana verse describes him as the one with countless rays, the first cosmic being, the jewel of the three worlds, and the fulfiller of devotees’ wishes.

He is praised as the very form of time (kāla), the inner soul of all beings, the essence of the Vedas, and the all-pervading cosmic presence. He destroys fear arising from birth, death, aging, disease, and samsara. At sunrise he is Brahma, at noon Shiva, and at sunset Vishnu, symbolizing his unity with the Trimurti.

His golden one-wheeled chariot, his lotus-bearing hand, and his role as the supreme witness of creation establish him as the source of truth and cosmic order. He is the embodiment of dharma, compassion, and ultimate reality. As Chhāyeśa, he removes epilepsy, abdominal disorders, fevers, chronic diseases, and negative energies.

Since this stotram is said to have been proclaimed by Lord Shiva, it carries the power to bestow success, wealth, health, wish-fulfillment, and spiritual upliftment. Regular recitation purifies the body and mind and brings divine grace and protection.
