Sri Surya Pratah Smarana Stotram

This “Surya Pratah Smarana Stotram” is a sacred morning hymn remembering the Sun God at dawn. The first verse describes Savita, the supreme solar deity, whose form embodies the Vedic triad — Rig Veda as His radiant orb, Yajur Veda as His body, and Sama Veda as His rays. He is the cosmic source of creation, sustenance and dissolution, beyond ordinary perception, the very embodiment of Brahma, Vishnu and Rudra.

The second verse praises Surya as the deity worshipped by Brahma, Indra, and all celestial beings. He governs rain, controls seasons, maintains the worlds and acts through the three gunas — sattva, rajas, tamas. To bow to Him with body, speech and mind purifies the devotee and removes ignorance.

The third verse invokes Surya as the destroyer of sins, enemies, fear and diseases, the master of infinite power and the very flow of time itself. He is the primal deity who liberates beings from worldly bondage and grants spiritual clarity.

The phalaśruti promises that the one who recites these three verses every morning becomes free from diseases and attains supreme happiness, health and peace.
