Sri Purushottama Stuti (Prahlada Krutam)

The Purushottama Stuti is a profound hymn sung by Prahlada, offering praise to Lord Vishnu as the Supreme Being beyond all dualities. It describes the Lord as both manifest and unmanifest, gross and subtle, with qualities and beyond qualities, immanent and transcendent at once.

Prahlada first salutes the Lord who is the ultimate reality — the one who exists as the gross physical world as well as the subtle spiritual essence, the perishable and the imperishable, the seen and the unseen, the Lord of all worlds, untouched by impurities.

He then praises Vishnu as the source of all attributes yet untouched by attributes, the foundation of the three gunas yet beyond them. Real and unreal, form and formlessness, subtle and clear — all these states are held in Him effortlessly.

The Lord is both eternal and the support of the changing world, the pure transcendental refuge. He is one and many, the universal cause, the origin of the Vasudeva principle from which creation emerges.

Prahlada declares the highest truth — the Lord is the gross universe and the subtle essence, the light of all manifestation. He dwells in all beings, yet no being can contain Him. The universe arises from Him, but He is beyond causation. Such is the glory of Purushottama, the Supreme Person worthy of eternal worship.
