Sri Narayana Ashtakshari Stuti

The Srimannarayana Ashtakshari Stuti is a hymn praising each syllable of the sacred mantra “Om Namo Narayanaya.” Every syllable symbolizes a divine quality of Lord Narayana—the Supreme Reality beyond gross and subtle forms, manifest and unmanifest states.

The first verse praises Om, the primal sound that transcends the perishable and imperishable, the seen and unseen—the essence of all creation.
The syllable “Na” salutes the Lord of all gods, the giver of life, and the destroyer of demonic arrogance.
“Ma” glorifies the cosmic form that both enchants and dispels delusion, upholding righteousness.

“Na” again praises Narayana, Narasimha, and the divine Nada—the cosmic vibration that sustains the universe.
“Ra” praises Lord Rama, the obedient son of Dasharatha, embodiment of dharma and compassion.
“Ya” signifies the Lord as the embodiment of yajna, the protector and enjoyer of all sacrifices.

“Ṇa” is praised as renowned in all worlds, giver of the fruits of many births, and fulfiller of desires.
The final “Ya” again salutes the Lord as the doer, preserver, and goal of all yajnas—accessible through pure knowledge.

The concluding verse declares the essence:
Narayana is the Supreme Brahman, the Supreme Lord, the supreme deity—everything is Narayana, always.
