Sri Lakshmi Nrisimha Ashtakam

    1.    When Prahlada’s father mocked him — “Where is your God?” — the boy calmly replied, “He is everywhere.” That same Lord Lakshmi Nrisimha, who appeared to protect His devotee, guard me from all directions.
    2.    When Hiranyakashipu struck the pillar, a thunderous sound filled the worlds — terrifying and divine. From that pillar emerged Lord Nrisimha; may He protect me.
    3.    He burst forth from the pillar — His form fierce like a storm cloud, mane blazing, ears towering, and eyes glowing with wrath. May that dreadful yet merciful Lord guard me always.
    4.    With five faces and sharp claws, He tore apart the tyrant’s chest — the Lord Nrisimha, destroyer of evil, protect me forever.
    5.    He honored both His devotee’s word and the boon granted to the demon, wearing the entrails of the slain as a garland — may that radiant Lord defend me.
    6.    His form is wondrous, His deeds divine, His power beyond measure — the Lion-Man Lord who removes sin and sorrow, may He guard me.
    7.    By His grace, Prahlada attained complete fulfillment, and the gods regained peace. May that benevolent Nrisimha protect me.
    8.    His terrifying fangs strike fear in demons, yet His heart is full of compassion for devotees. The giver of all boons, Vasudeva Himself, may He always protect me.
