Meaning

1.    Dharma — the principle responsible for the world’s order — is famed through the Vedic heard traditions; we always take refuge in the scripture that embodies that divine law.
    2.    It states that Sri Shankaracharya and the Shiva-avatar tradition have perpetually propagated Dharma; a sacred throne on the holy peak is honored and adorned by ascetics and rulers.
    3.    On that seat are the disciplined ascetics renowned through learning and austerity; the seat is recognized as a modern seat of learning and a place where yogis study and uphold the scriptures.
    4.    This eminent sage-protector watches over Dharma; the assembly and union of such guardians and texts are rightly joined for the welfare of the world.
    5.    Even in this age tainted by Kali, the Vedic tradition remains unobliterated because of this very cause — the presence of a scripture and a venerated seat worshipped by all.
    6.    Knowledge and liberation both require compassion and steadfast resolve; yet by the grace of Hari-Hara’s son, both can be attained by devotees without exhausting toil.
    7.    Yogis who practice restraint and discipline should meditate on these teachings; the sustainer who joins scripture with heart is the protector of all worlds.
    8.    The resident of Shabarigiri (the seat’s lord) is revered by all worlds, brings solace to humble people, grants heaven and liberation, and may the son of Hari-Hara ever bestow peace.
