devarṣaya ūcuḥ |
videharūpaṃ bhavabaṃdhahāraṃ
sadā svaniṣṭhaṃ svasukhapradaṃ taṃ |
ameyasāṃkhyena ca labhyamīśaṃ

yadi tvayā nātha kṛtaṃ na kiṃci-
-ttadā kathaṃ sarvamidaṃ vibhāti |
ato mahātmānamaciṃtyameva

sa kāmikānāmiha saukhyadaṃ taṃ |

sureṃdrasevyaṃ hyasuraiḥ susevyaṃ
samānabhāvena virājayaṃtaṃ |

sadā sukhānaṃdamaye jale ca
samudraje cekṣurase nivāsaṃ |

-stadeva cihnena ca yoginastvāṃ |

yadyacca prārthitaṃ devā munayaḥ sarvamaṃjasā |
bhaviṣyati na saṃdeho matsmṛtyā sarvadā hi vaḥ ||31||

bhaviṣyati viśeṣeṇa mama bhaktipradāyakaṃ ||32||
putrapautrapradaṃ pūrṇaṃ dhanadhānyavivardhanaṃ |
sarvasaṃpatkaraṃ devāḥ paṭhanācchravaṇānnṛṇāṃ ||33||
māraṇoccāṭanādīni naśyaṃti stotrapāṭhataḥ |
parakṛtyaṃ ca vipreṃdrā aśubhaṃ naiva bādhate ||34||
saṃgrāme jayadaṃ caiva yātrākāle phalapradaṃ |
śatrūccāṭanakādyeṣu praśastaṃ tadbhaviṣyati ||35||
kārāgṛhagatasyaiva baṃdhanāśakaraṃ bhavet |
asādhyaṃ sādhayet sarvamanenaiva surarṣayaḥ ||36||
ekaviṃśativāraṃ caikaviṃśati dināvadhiṃ |
prayogaṃ yaḥ karotyeva sa bhavet sarvasiddhibhāk ||37||
dharmārthakāmamokṣāṇāṃ brahmabhūtasya dāyakaṃ |
bhaviṣyati na saṃdehaḥ stotraṃ madbhaktivardhanaṃ |
evamuktvā gaṇādhīśastatraivāṃtaradhīyata ||38||
Meaning
1. The sages sing of Gajanan as the remover of worldly bonds, ever-steadfast and giver of inner ease; we worship him devotionally.
2. Worshipped by great seers, possessing tranquil intellect and steady wisdom, the elephant-faced Lord grants perfect peace.
3. His immeasurable form abides in the heart as Brahman-I, destroying delusion and transcending beginning and end.
4. He is the measure of the world, the Lord of the universe; he dispels the illusion that binds living beings.
5. He is beyond form, beyond water, beyond brilliance and wind—transcending the five elements.
6. Not limited by qualities, beyond collective and individual existence, he is the supreme reality devoid of attributes.
7. Though indescribable as a point or embodied self, sages declare that his reality stands firm beyond conjunctions.
8. Even when we cannot fully depict him, all manifest existence is established by his will; thus we worship Gajanan devotionally.
9. If the universe did not become luminous by your command, how would its being be known? The great souls remain awestruck.
10. By his grace the universe shines—hence the sages bow to his inconceivable greatness.
11. He grants success to wishful devotees and liberation to those who seek freedom; he is beloved of gods and rides the mouse.

14. Accessible to those practicing devotion and austere discipline, he removes the illusion of delusion.
15. Though the sun, Hari, and Shiva have distinct forms, Gajanan is their focus beyond mere appearances.
16. Honoured by great gods and beings, his glory pervades moving and unmoving creation alike.
17. Even when settled in divine rest, he remains present in the world as a protector of beings.
18. We, with rice offerings and songs of praise, continually honour and worship his forms.
19. The Vedas and yogic masters teach that the seed of the elephant (gaja-bīja) leads aspirants to him—the yogis attain him thus.
20. Puranic sages, gods and celestial voices have all chanted his praises; why should we not join in?
21. After their worship the gods approached the Lord, and Gajanan spoke to them joyfully.
22. Gajanan promised to grant boons to the gods and to fulfill worthy desires when invoked with devotion.
23. The gods, moved to tears of devotion, praised him before Prajapati.
24. The seers requested steadfast devotion without greed; the Lord’s blessings should make devotees free from avarice.
25. Peace and welfare were sought for the world; through Gajanan’s grace all is upheld.
26. Now the gods and the twice-born will be protected and sustained through his grace and duty.
27. Because of your deeds, Gajanan, prosperity, children, wealth and comforts will come to those who praise you.
28. Those devoted to duty and righteousness will obtain boons and further blessings by your grace.
29. When we remember you, O Lord, our hardships are removed—make us free from afflictions.
30. Upon such obeisance, Gajanan replied affectionately, promising to grant what sages had sought.
31. Gajanan assured that the devout prayers of sages, gods and seers will be fulfilled—his grace removes death’s terrors.
32. This hymn bestows universal success and increases devotion in the heart of the worshipper.
33. Recitation and listening to this stotram grant progeny, abundance, and all kinds of wealth to mankind.
34. Chants of this hymn dispel death-threats and evil plots; sacrilegious acts do not harm those who recite it.
