Mukthaka Mangalam

Muktaka Mangalam is a beautiful hymn composed by Sri Varavara Muni (Manavala Mamunigal), offering auspicious blessings to the lineage of Vaishnava acharyas, divine temples, Azhwars, and ultimately Lord Vishnu in His many sacred forms. The stotram reflects the very essence of Sri Vaishnava tradition—guru devotion, surrender, purity, and unbroken lineage of spiritual wisdom.

It begins by praising Sri Vedanta Desika, a treasure house of compassion and divine qualities. The hymn offers mangalam to Lord Ranganatha, the resting place of Goddess Lakshmi, the giver of welfare to the entire world. Then it glorifies Lord Srinivasa of Tirumala, the abode of prosperity and the refuge of devotees.
The hymn continues with mangalam to Lord Varadaraja of Kanchipuram and Lord Narayana of Yadavadri, describing their divine beauty and Lakshmi’s presence on their chest.

Sri Satakopa (Nammalvar) is praised as the one who resides beneath the tamarind tree in Thirukurugur, and Sri Andal—daughter of Periyalwar—is offered eternal mangalam. Ramanujacharya, born in Sriperumbudur, is praised as the great acharya who brought spiritual liberation to humanity. All previous acharyas, who carried the torch of mangalasasana, are also honored.

Finally, mangalam is offered to Lord Venkatesa and Lord Ranganatha, wishing eternal auspiciousness for all devotees.
This hymn blesses the reciter with divine grace, purity, prosperity, peace, and spiritual elevation.
