Meaning (Detailed Explanation):

Opening Invocation:
“O Swaminatha, friend of the distressed! One anointed with sacred ash and the waters of Ganga! Ocean of compassion! Wearer of Rudraksha, remover of fierce diseases, radiant like the moon, fulfiller of desires—salutations to you.”

Verse 1:

The devotee prays:
“Protect me, O Kumara! Destroy the fierce ailments. Your glance brings auspiciousness. You, who are born in the form of the beauty of Kama, fulfill all desires.”

Verse 2:

“Save me from dreadful diseases, misfortunes, bad omens, and dangers caused by Time. I bow to you, O son of the destroyer of Time (Shiva).”

Verse 3:

“You are the guru even to Brahma and all gods. Peaks themselves serve as your steps. All devas and divine armies surround you. Vedas like the Samaveda sing your praise.”

Verse 4:

“Clad in saffron garments, destroyer of lust and anger, holder of the begging bowl, eyes full of grace, bearer of the divine Shakti—O son of Shiva, I adore you.”

Verse 5:

“You reside in Swaminatha Hills as a divine child, removing the ailments of the virtuous. You speak the essence of ‘Om’ into Shiva’s ears with divine joy. I worship that radiant child.

“This hymn was composed by Anantarama Dikshitar to grant all desires. One who recites it with devotion at dawn attains the eight siddhis by the grace of Lord Subrahmanya.”
