1. Victory to You, O Skanda—beloved of Devasena, son of the death-conquering Shiva, beloved of Valli, and surrounded by the ganas of Shiva.

2. Victory to the destroyer of Tarakasura’s pride! Younger brother of Ganesha! Son-in-law of Indra! Lotus-eyed Lord!

3. Victory to the son of Maheshwara! Worshipped by Brahma! Son of Parvati! One who manifested in the sacred forests of Kashi!

4. Son of the divine Ganga! Born of fire! Destroyer of Brahma’s pride! Worshipped even by Lord Vishnu!
