Sri Saraswati Stotram

    1.    Sage Brihaspati said: “I bow to Goddess Saraswati — the consciousness abiding in the heart, the goddess of speech dwelling in the throat, lotus-born, radiant with the sacred sound Hreem.”
    2.    “She grants wisdom, fulfills all desires, beloved of Vishnu, holding the veena, bestowing boons upon devotees.”
    3.    “She is pleased by mantras, destroys ignorance, shines with self-effulgence, and removes darkness from the mind.”
    4.    “Eternal, pure, auspicious, seated on a lotus, adorned with white garments and divine ornaments — she is the Mother of Liberation.”
    5.    “Residing in the solar orb, beloved of all beings, destroyer of obstacles, and the light of wisdom — I bow to Her.”
    6.    When Brihaspati praised Her with these words, the Goddess appeared before him, radiant as the full moon.
    7.    Saraswati spoke: “O blessed one, ask a boon that lies in your heart.” He replied: “Grant me supreme wisdom.”
8–9. The Goddess said: “I grant you pure knowledge that destroys ignorance. Whoever recites this hymn with devotion will gain divine intellect and poetic brilliance.”
    8.    “Whoever recites it thrice daily shall have Me ever residing in their throat — this is My eternal promise.”
